BOM Management

Feature in ComputeComplete

Build bills of materials from templates, track nested BOMs, generate timelines.

Overview

BOM Management (bills of materials) lets you build equipment lists from templates, track nested BOMs, and generate deployment timelines. BOMs define what gets deployed at each site.

BOMs can include power equipment, cooling, networking, and other infrastructure. Nested BOMs allow complex hierarchies (e.g., a "Row" BOM containing "Cabinet" BOMs).

Templates speed up repeatable builds. Generate a timeline from the BOM structure to plan construction and commissioning.

How to Use

  1. Create a BOM from the Deploy phase. Start from a template or build from scratch. Add line items: equipment, quantities, and specifications.
  2. Use nested BOMs for complex deployments. A "Data Hall" BOM might contain "Row" BOMs, each with "Cabinet" BOMs.
  3. Link BOM items to Vendor Network products where applicable. This connects procurement to the deployment plan.
  4. Generate the timeline. The system creates milestones from BOM structure. Share with construction vendors for coordination.

User Roles

This feature is used differently depending on your role:

Project managers
Build BOMs, manage templates, generate timelines.
Deployment teams
Execute BOM-based deployments.

How It Ties to the Ecosystem

BOM items can reference Vendor Network offerings. Construction Coordination uses the BOM timeline for submittals and milestones. Completed deployments feed into Asset Lifecycle.
