GridWorkspace

GridWorkspace is the future managed workstation and shared-terminal layer for operational staff, command centers, front desks, and critical-facility teams.

What It Is

GridWorkspace extends our endpoint strategy beyond kiosks and handhelds into staff workstations and shared desktop environments. It is intended to provide a controlled, authenticated, role-based operational shell for users accessing the ecosystem from front-desk computers, dispatch stations, NOC consoles, security desks, lobby systems, and office terminals.

Rather than positioning this as a general business productivity suite replacement, it should be framed as a secure operational workstation experience optimized for critical-facility use cases and ecosystem-native workflows.

Why It Matters

Operational environments have unique workstation needs. Shared terminals at front desks, dispatch consoles in command centers, and security desks all require controlled, role-based access to specific applications. Generic desktop environments create security risks and operational inefficiency. GridWorkspace provides a purpose-built operational shell that ensures the right tools are available to the right roles.

Features

Each feature has its own documentation page. Click through for details.

Example Workflows

  • A receptionist signs into a front-desk workstation and gets only visitor, package, and reception tools.
  • A security operator signs into a dispatch desk and sees command, incidents, communications, and station status.
  • An operations team member signs into a shared terminal and sees maintenance, tickets, dashboards, and communications.
  • A command room workstation is configured into a controlled operations-console mode.

Intended Users

  • Receptionists and front desk staff
  • Dispatch operators
  • Security desk personnel
  • NOC/command center operators
  • Shared terminal users

Ecosystem Integration

GridWorkspace gives staff a structured portal into GridPass, GridCommand, GridPolicy, GridComms, ComputeComplete, GridMail, and related tools. It complements GridStation: GridStation is for role-configured fixed endpoints, while GridWorkspace is for staff-operated workstations and shared terminals.
