Resource Allocation

Feature in ColoComplete

Track cabinets, power, and connectivity; allocate to customers; manage availability.

Overview

Resource Allocation tracks cabinets, power, and connectivity as allocatable units. Allocate resources to customers as they sign contracts and track availability in real time.

Define resource types per facility: cabinet positions, power tiers (e.g., 2kW, 5kW, 10kW), and connectivity options. Track what is available, allocated, reserved, and offline.

Allocation records link to customers and contracts. When capacity is allocated, update Marketplace colocation offerings to reflect availability.

How to Use

  1. Define resource types for each facility. Set total capacity and initial availability.
  2. When a customer signs a contract, allocate the agreed resources. Record cabinet, power, and connectivity assignments.
  3. Track availability. As allocations change, update the resource view. Use capacity planning to forecast future availability.
  4. Sync with Marketplace offerings. When capacity is allocated, update colocation offerings to prevent overbooking.
